Kristi S. Anseth earned her B.S. degree from Purdue University in 1992 and her PhD from the University of Colorado in 1994.
Following a post-doctoral research appointment at MIT, Dr. Anseth joined the faculty at the University of Colorado in 1996. She is presently a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator and Tisone Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering. Her research interests lie at the interface between biology and engineering where she designs new biomaterials for medical and biological applications, including tissue engineering, drug delivery, and microfluidic devices.
Dr. Anseth has been recognized with the Colburn Award from the American Institute of Chemical Engineering and the Alan T. Waterman Award from the National Science Foundation. She is also a dedicated teacher, who has received four University Awards related to her teaching, as well as the American Society for Engineering Education's Curtis W. McGraw Award.
